Put yourself in character or an accent in your mind while speaking
Speak at a higher volume
Sing words in your head
Use replacement words that are easier to pronounce
Use starter words. I did "Beach Games" a few weeks ago and couldn't say Venice, so I put a "the" in front of it. I made the "the" as silent as possible but it enabled me to get to Venice.
Let people know that you're a stutterer right up front - that's half the battle - it takes the pressure off of you to speak clearly.
Bring a notepad when on a date. If you can't spit it out, write it, it will take the pressure off of you to speak clearly which might help you speak clearly.
Know in your heart, that whomever you are talking to is no better than you.
Get angry in your mind when speaking.
- Laugh at it, let people make fun of it, it's fine, don't let it define you, it's something you do, it's not who you are.
